Furniture disassembly in Warsaw — dismantling, removal, disposal preparation

The old wardrobe won’t fit through the door, the sofa has seen better days, and the 1990s kitchen set is beyond saving — and all of it needs to get out of the apartment somehow. Furniture disassembly sounds simple until you start: hidden fasteners, glued-on back panels, heavy countertops. We disassemble furniture carefully — if it needs to survive the move, or quickly — if it’s going to disposal. We work across all of Warsaw, from Praga-Poludnie to Wola.

How much does furniture disassembly cost and what affects the price

The cost depends on the furniture type, how it was assembled, and whether parts need to be preserved for reassembly. Taking apart a sliding-door wardrobe versus a built-in kitchen unit are very different jobs. Basic fixings are included in the price; waste removal and carrying items downstairs are charged separately. Current prices are listed in the table below.

How furniture disassembly works on site

  1. You describe the task: what needs dismantling, how many pieces, whether parts should be kept. You send photos.
  2. The technician estimates the scope and provides an approximate price.
  3. We agree on a date and time — usually same-day or next-day availability.
  4. On site, the technician inspects the furniture and identifies fastener types (cam locks, dowels, glue, nails).
  5. Disassembly: doors, shelves, and drawers come off first, then the frame. If the furniture is for disposal — components are stacked compactly.
  6. If the furniture is for reassembly — parts are labelled, hardware goes into bags, photos record the order.
  7. Clean-up: dust, debris, leftover fasteners. Carrying items to the entrance or the bulky waste collection point — by arrangement.

Common mistakes during furniture disassembly (and how to avoid them)

What to prepare before the technician arrives

A real case from Warsaw

A client in the Zoliborz district was moving out of a three-room flat and wanted to take his IKEA PAX bedroom set — two 2.5-metre wardrobes with mirrored doors. The problem: the wardrobes were flush against the ceiling, back panels were nailed on, and each mirror door weighed about 15 kg. The technician started by removing the doors — lifting them off the hinges with a special tool to protect the mirrors. Then he removed shelves and clothes rails, numbering every panel with a marker on painter’s tape. The back panels were carefully pried off without damaging the chipboard. The entire disassembly took 2.5 hours. Parts were wrapped in plastic, hardware was placed in labelled bags. At the new flat, the wardrobes went back together without a hitch — not a single part was missing. Takeaway: labelling parts during disassembly saves hours during reassembly.

Frequently asked questions

Can furniture be disassembled so it can be put back together?
Yes, if it was assembled with cam locks or bolts. Glued and nailed furniture is harder to take apart without damage — the technician will assess on site.

Do you haul away old furniture?
We disassemble and carry out. Disposal transport is a separate service — we can recommend a hauler. Warsaw also has a free gabaryty collection schedule.

How long does it take to disassemble one wardrobe?
A standard wardrobe takes 30–60 minutes. A built-in sliding-door wardrobe with rails — up to 1.5 hours.

Do I need to be home during the work?
Preferably — so you can decide what to keep and what to discard. But if everything is agreed in advance, you can leave a key.

What to do with bulky waste in Warsaw?
Every district has a gabaryty collection schedule — furniture is placed on the pavement on the designated day. You can also take it to a PSZOK (selective waste collection point).

Do you disassemble kitchen units?
Yes, including countertops, wall cabinets, and built-in appliances. Disconnecting water and electricity is separate if required.

Can I book a weekend disassembly?
Yes, we work on Saturdays too. Message or call us — we’ll find a convenient time.
