Does your drawer grind, lean to one side, or come right out when you open it? In 90% of cases, the issue is not the drawer box itself but the slides — the metal parts that let it move in and out. With time, rollers wear out, ball bearings break down, and fixings start to loosen. Replacing the whole piece of furniture because of one mechanism does not make sense. We replace drawer slides on-site across Warsaw: we choose the correct type, take out the old ones, fit new ones, and fine-tune the movement. Your drawer works properly again.

The price depends on the type of slide (roller, ball-bearing, soft-close), the length of the mechanism, and how many drawers need work. Roller slides are the easiest and cheapest option, but they also wear out the fastest. Ball-bearing (telescopic) slides are the standard in newer furniture: full extension, smooth running, and better load capacity. Soft-close slides are the higher-end option — the drawer shuts on its own, quietly. Standard fixings used with the hardware are included in the price. The slides themselves are charged separately: the technician will select the proper model for your drawer. You can see current prices in the table below.
| Service | min | max |
|---|---|---|
| Drawer slides replacement | 80 zł/pc | 180 zł/pc |
| Furniture repair | 150 zł | 350 zł |

A client in Mokotow got in touch with us about an IKEA Malm chest of drawers — all four drawers were stiff and coming out crooked. She wanted to keep the unit and did not want to replace it. When we checked it, we found the roller slides were finished: the plastic rollers had worn all the way down to bare metal, and one had fallen apart completely. On top of that, the screw holes in the chipboard were stripped — the old fixings were loose. We recommended an upgrade to ball-bearing telescopic slides with full extension: longer-lasting and giving access to the full drawer depth. We re-drilled the old fixing holes and installed chipboard plugs. The new slides were marked using a template — all four pairs exactly symmetrical. After fitting, we tested every drawer: smooth running, no play, full closing. The job took about ninety minutes. The client said the chest of drawers now worked better than when it was new — because the original roller slides had always been cheaper than the ones we installed.
There are three main types: roller (budget, partial extension), ball-bearing telescopic (full extension, smooth running), and soft-close (self-closing, quiet). The technician will suggest the best option for your furniture and budget.
Yes, we get this request a lot. For example, changing rollers to ball-bearing slides or adding a soft-close mechanism. We just need to check that the clearance between the drawer and carcase matches the new type.
Not always. The technician can bring the correct slides — just send photos and measurements in advance. If you want to buy them yourself, check the model with the technician first so you do not end up with the wrong type or length.
One drawer — 20 to 30 minutes. A four-drawer chest — about ninety minutes. A kitchen with ten drawers — from three hours, depending on the mechanism type.
The technician’s labour, removal of the old slides, fitting the new ones, adjustment, and a function check. The slides themselves and any extra fixings (plugs, non-standard screws) are billed separately.
Yes, on any carcase furniture: chests of drawers, wardrobes, cabinets, kitchen drawers, office pedestals. As long as the carcase is sound and the side panels are not damaged, the slides can be replaced without trouble.
The technician will check the damage. If the crack is minor, we add plugs or move the fixing points. If the side panel is badly damaged, we will tell you straight that replacing the furniture is the simpler option.
Yes, kitchen drawers are one of the jobs we do most often. They typically use Blum, Hettich, or GTV slides. We source matching replacements or original spare parts.

Slide replacement is done by technicians who deal with furniture hardware every day. We know the difference between a Blum Tandembox and a Hettich InnoTech and can source matching replacements. We cover all of Warsaw and nearby areas: Ursynow, Mokotow, Wola, Bemowo, Praga — we arrive with tools and a stock of popular slide models. To arrange a visit, call or message us and we will get back to you within an hour.
