Kitchen Base Cabinet Installation in Warsaw
22.02.2026Kitchen Base Cabinet Installation in Warsaw
Bought a single base cabinet from IKEA, Castorama or a local carpenter — and need it set level, secured to the wall, legs adjusted and joined to the neighbouring units? That is a separate job, not to be confused with a full kitchen installation. One cabinet — one visit, a couple of hours of work. We cover all of Warsaw: from Praga-Poludnie to Wola, arriving with tools and fixings.
How much does it cost and what affects the price
Current prices for all kitchen services are in the table below. The cost of installing a single base cabinet depends on its design (units with pull-out drawers cost more than a simple shelf cabinet), whether a worktop is involved, any trimming required and the wall condition for fastening. Fixings are included in the price. The furniture itself, worktop and extra materials are charged separately. Packaging removal is an additional service.

How the on-site work goes
- You send a photo of the installation area and the cabinet model — the technician assesses the task.
- We agree on a time — usually we arrive the same or next day.
- On site, the technician checks the floor level, wall condition and utilities (pipes, sockets).
- Assembles the cabinet if it comes flat-packed (or inspects factory assembly).
- Levels the cabinet — adjusts the legs to compensate for an uneven floor.
- Secures the carcass to the wall with anchors or wall plugs — so the cabinet doesn’t pull away when doors are opened.
- Joins it to adjacent units with connectors, adjusts doors and hinges, tests drawer runners.
Common customer mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Placing the cabinet without wall fixings — it tips forward when loaded with dishes.
- Not checking floor level — the cabinet sits crooked, doors misalign, gaps between units.
- Forgetting to leave clearance for pipes or sockets — the back panel has to be cut out afterwards.
- Ordering the worktop before the cabinets are in place — dimensions are off by 5–10 mm.
- Pushing the cabinet against the wall without allowing for the skirting — the door won’t open fully.
- Skipping hinge adjustment after fitting — doors sag and close unevenly.
- Trying to install on an uneven floor without adjustable legs — the whole structure wobbles.
What to prepare before the technician arrives
- Clear the installation area — remove old furniture, boxes, appliances.
- Check the cabinet is complete — all parts, fittings, legs, hardware.
- If the cabinet is still boxed — leave it unopened, the technician will check with you.
- Make sure the cabinet fits through doorways (especially if pre-assembled).
- Photograph the wall and floor at the installation point and send them to the technician.
- Confirm where water and waste pipes run — to avoid drilling into them.
- Have a power socket available for tools.
- Provide access details: intercom code, parking info.
- If a worktop is planned — wait until all base cabinets are fitted before measuring.
A real case from Warsaw
A client in Ursynow bought a single IKEA METOD 80 cm base unit with two MAXIMERA pull-out drawers. The old cabinet had already been removed, but the wall still had marks from earlier fixings, and the floor had an 8 mm drop across the width of the cabinet. The technician adjusted the legs to level, fastened the carcass to the wall with two plugs, fitted the door fronts and fine-tuned the hinges and drawer runners. Gaps to neighbouring units were closed with cabinet connectors. The whole job took an hour and a half. The client noted the drawers now glided smoothly and the fronts lined up perfectly — no steps between them. Takeaway: even a single cabinet needs precise adjustment, otherwise it stands out from the rest of the kitchen line.
Frequently asked questions
How is installing one cabinet different from fitting a whole kitchen?
A full kitchen fit is a package: levelling, aligning every module, worktop, appliance connections. A single cabinet is a focused task: position, level, fix to wall, join to neighbours.
Does a base cabinet need to be fixed to the wall?
Yes, always. Without fixings the cabinet can topple under load — especially with pull-out drawers.
Will the technician assemble the cabinet from the box, or should I do it beforehand?
The technician can assemble it on site. If it is already assembled, he will check the build quality before installation.
What is included in the price?
Labour, fixings (plugs, anchors, connectors), travel within Warsaw. Furniture, worktop and materials are separate.
Can a cabinet be installed on an uneven floor?
Yes, that is exactly what adjustable legs are for. The technician will level the cabinet even on an uneven floor.
How long does it take to install one cabinet?
Usually 1–2 hours, depending on the design and the condition of the wall and floor.
Do you connect appliances if the cabinet is for a sink or dishwasher?
Yes, sink and dishwasher connections are separate services that can be combined with cabinet installation.
