How much does moving help cost
The cost depends on how many вещи you have, which floor it is, whether there’s a lift, and the distance between the two addresses. Carrying a few boxes from a van into a flat is fast and inexpensive. A complete move from a two-room flat with furniture disassembly takes around half a day. Bringing in large items (fridge, washing machine, sofa) is charged separately. How the move works
- You tell us the scope: how many rooms, what large furniture there is, the floor, and whether there’s a lift. Send photos.
- The technician works out the time and price, and we set a date.
- On moving day, the team comes with tools, wrap, straps, and blankets.
- We take apart any furniture that can’t be moved in one piece (wardrobes, beds, tables).
- We carry everything out and load it carefully. Fragile items — separately, in protective packaging.
- At the new address we carry everything in, place it by room, and reassemble the furniture.
- We make sure everything is where it should be, the furniture is assembled, and nothing is damaged.
Common moving mistakes
- Leaving furniture assembled before carrying it out — the wardrobe gets wedged in the doorway and scrapes the walls.
- Skipping protection during carrying — wardrobe and table corners get knocked against door frames.
- Assuming the lift can handle more than it can — a service lift in a residential building is usually 400-600 kg, a regular one is 300 kg.
- Not marking boxes — then at the new place nothing can be sorted properly.
- Two people carrying something that really needs three — high risk of dropping it and causing damage.
- Not measuring doorways at the new address — the sofa won’t get into the room.
What to prepare before the team arrives
- Prepare a list of large items: wardrobes, beds, sofas, appliances.
- Pack smaller things into labelled boxes.
- Defrost the fridge 24 hours before the move.
- Disconnect the washing machine and dishwasher, and drain out the water.
- Check that the lift is working (or let us know if there isn’t one).
- Measure doorway and stairwell widths at the new place.
- Reserve space for unloading (parking near the entrance).
- Send intercom codes for both addresses.
- Fragile and valuable items (documents, laptop, jewellery) — take those yourself.
- If IKEA furniture needs to be taken apart — keep the instructions nearby.
Case study: moving in Mokotow
One client was moving from a two-room flat on the 4th floor without a lift to a new-build in Mokotow with a service lift. The biggest issue was an IKEA PAX 200 cm wardrobe and a sofa bed.
