You ordered furniture from a shop, and now it’s here: three boxes, a pouch of fittings, and instructions that make less sense than the furniture. Wardrobe, chest of drawers, shelving unit, table — sure, you can assemble it yourself, but in practice a pro gets it done three times quicker, without crooked panels or ruined threads. How much does furniture assembly cost
Assembly of ready-made furniture usually comes to 20-25% of the item price. A basic chest of drawers is fast to build and doesn’t cost much. A big wardrobe with mirrors and pull-out drawers needs more time and costs more. The price is based on: number of sections, type of hardware, and whether it needs fixing to the wall. Fixings included in the kit are covered. Extra wall plugs or anchors are billed separately. Exact rates for each furniture type are listed in the table below.

How the on-site assembly works
- Send a photo of the boxes or the model name — the technician assesses the scope and time needed.
- We set a date. We often arrive the same day or the next.
- The technician arrives with tools: drill, spirit level, bits, hammer, square.
- We unpack everything and check all parts against the manual. Any defective parts are spotted right away.
- We assemble the carcase, fit the doors, and adjust hinges and drawers.
- We fix it to the wall if required, tidy up the packaging, and test every mechanism.
Common DIY assembly mistakes
- Skipping the completeness check before starting — the missing part shows up when the unit is already half assembled.
- Confusing mirrored panels (left/right) — correcting it takes more time than the build itself.
- Driving confirmat screws at full drill speed — which strips the threads in chipboard.
- Not checking the carcase diagonals before attaching the back panel — the unit ends up out of square.
- Forgetting to secure tall furniture to the wall — a two-metre wardrobe can tip over.
- Assembling furniture upright instead of flat — panels drop and damage the floor.
What to prepare before the technician arrives
- Furniture boxes should already be inside the flat (carrying upstairs is a separate service).
- Clear the assembly area: at least 2.5 x 3 metres.
- Decide where the furniture will stand — moving assembled units is not included.
- Check everything against the receipt before the visit.
- Remove rugs and breakable items from the work area.
- Make sure there is access to a power socket and provide the intercom code.
Case study: bedroom set in Bemowo
A client ordered a BRW bedroom set: a two-door wardrobe, a 5-drawer chest, and bedside tables. Four boxes weighing close to 150 kg in total. We began with the wardrobe — carcase built flat, diagonals checked, then lifted upright. The chest of drawers had full-extension runners — each drawer was adjusted separately. How is this different from IKEA assembly?
The idea is the same, but IKEA uses standardised hardware. Furniture from BRW, Agata, or Allegro can come with non-standard fixings — the technician adjusts the method to the specific model.
What is included in the price?
The technician’s labour and tools, along with the hardware from the kit. Additional wall plugs, carrying upstairs, and waste removal are charged separately.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. Saturdays and Sundays are normal working days. Please book ahead.
