Glass-Ceramic Surface Replacement for Electric Cooktop in Warsaw
Glass-Ceramic Surface Replacement for Electric Cooktop in Warsaw
Has the glass-ceramic top cracked, chipped, or spread into a spider-web pattern? Using a cooktop with broken glass is unsafe — moisture can get through the cracks to the heating elements and cause a short circuit. Cracks also get worse over time from repeated heating and cooling. We replace glass-ceramic surfaces on site all over Warsaw — using original or matching glass for your model.
How much does it cost

The price depends on the size of the cooktop, whether the glass is available, and the model. The glass itself is the priciest part, so in some cases the repair comes close to the cost of buying a new cooktop. The technician will check whether it makes sense on site. Prices are shown in the table.

How the replacement works

- You tell us what kind of damage there is.
- The technician checks the model and orders the glass (3–7 days if not in stock).
- We turn off the breaker.
- The cooktop is taken out and the broken glass is carefully removed from the frame.
- The frame is cleaned and fresh heat-resistant sealant is applied.
- The new glass is installed, pressed into place, and secured.
- The cooktop is put back and all zones are tested.
Common mistakes

- Using a cracked surface — risk of short circuit and electric shock.
- Ordering glass by measuring with a ruler — the exact model number is required.
- Trying to seal the crack with glue — no adhesive handles that temperature.
- Installing ordinary glass instead of glass-ceramic — it will break.
- Dropping heavy cookware — the most common cause.
- Putting hot pans on a cold zone — thermal shock.
What to prepare

- The exact cooktop model.
- A photo of the damage.
- Do not use the cooktop!
- Turn off the breaker.
- Clear the worktop.
- Make sure the cooktop can be removed.
- Gather the fragments if there are any.
- Leave space to work next to the worktop.
A real case from Warsaw

A client in Wola dropped a cast-iron skillet onto a Siemens cooktop — the glass split from the centre right to the edge. The cooktop was 4 years old, and the electronics and burners were still working. We ordered genuine glass (arrived in 5 days), took out the cooktop, removed the old glass, cleaned the frame, applied sealant, and installed the new glass. All zones working. The on-site job took about 1.5 hours. The client saved a lot compared with buying a new cooktop. Tip: never set heavy cast iron down on its edge on glass-ceramic.
