Gas Hob Connection in the Kitchen in Warsaw

Warszawa · 27.02.2026 · ≈ 5 min read

Got a new gas hob and need it installed in the countertop and hooked up to the gas line? This is not something to do on your own. In Poland, gas appliances can only be connected by a certified gas fitter (uprawnienia gazowe). We work across all of Warsaw — from Ursynow to Bielany — and do the connection fully to code: using a flexible gas hose, checking for leaks with soapy water, and issuing a signed certificate.

Safety warning: gas is not like electricity. Even a minor leak can cause poisoning or an explosion. Do not try to connect a gas hob yourself unless you have the right qualifications and tools. Call a certified gas fitter — this is about your safety and the safety of your neighbours.

How the gas hob connection works

  1. You send photos of the kitchen, countertop, and gas outlet — the technician checks what needs to be done.
  2. We set a visit time — often the same day or the following one.
  3. At the flat, the technician inspects the gas valve and pipe condition, and measures the countertop cutout.
  4. If the cutout has not been made yet — it is cut to the manufacturer’s template.
  5. The hob is placed into the countertop and fixed from underneath with brackets.
  6. The flexible gas hose is connected, the joints are tightened, and soapy water is used to test for leaks.
  7. All burners are checked, the technician confirms there are no leaks, and tidies up.

Common mistakes when connecting a gas hob

What to prepare before the technician arrives

A real case from Warsaw

A client in the Zoliborz district booked a new Bosch gas hob connection during a kitchen renovation. The countertop was laminated chipboard and there was no cutout yet. The technician marked the opening from the manufacturer’s template, cut it with a jigsaw, and sealed the edges with silicone so moisture would not get in. The old connector was a rigid copper pipe — we changed it to a certified flexible hose with yellow marking. The gas valve was behind a cabinet — there was no need to move it, as the hose was long enough. After the connection, we tested all four burners and applied soapy water to each joint — no bubbles, no leaks. The whole job took around an hour and a half. The lesson here: even if the old connector seems fine, it is better to install a new one when replacing the hob — saving money on a hose is not worth the risk (compatible with IKEA, Nobilia, BRW and similar).

Frequently asked questions

Is it mandatory to call a gas fitter for hob connection?

Yes, in Poland gas appliance connections must be done by a specialist with uprawnienia gazowe. A DIY connection breaks the rules and creates a safety risk.

Should the gas hose be replaced when changing the hob?

Yes, it is recommended. The old hose may be worn or may not match the new connection type.

Do you cut the countertop opening?

Yes, if the cutout has not been made — the technician will cut it to the manufacturer’s template.

What is included in the connection price?

Labour, fixings, and leak testing. Flexible hose and sealant are charged separately if they are not included in the hob kit.

How is the leak test done?

Soapy water is put on all joints and checked for bubbles. This is the standard method.

Does a gas hob need a power socket?

If the hob has electric ignition — yes, a standard 230V socket near the countertop is needed.

How quickly can you come?

Often the same day or the next one. Call or message us — we will arrange a time.
