How much does shelf installation cost

The cost depends on the number of shelves, wall type and mounting method. One shelf on concrete is quick. Five on plasterboard with concealed fixings is another matter. Standard fixings (wall plugs, screws) are included. Current rates in the table below.

How installation works

1. We identify the wall type: concrete, brick, hollow block, plasterboard.
2. We mark fixing points with a laser level.
3. We drill with a hammer drill (concrete) or driver (plasterboard). For plasterboard — toggle or molly bolts.
4. We insert plugs and screw in brackets.
5. We mount the shelf and check level.
6. We test load — place the expected weight and confirm the fixings hold.

Common mistakes

• Drilling plasterboard with standard plugs — the shelf pulls out within a week.
• Not checking what is behind the wall — hitting wiring or pipes.
• Marking by eye without a level — shelf is visibly crooked.
• Decorative brackets that cannot handle the actual load.
• Heavy shelf on one bracket — it sags at one end.
• Blocking sockets or switches with the shelf.
• Using standard plugs in hollow brick — they spin and do not grip.
