PVC flooring installation in Warsaw — a practical floor for kitchens and hallways

PVC sheeting is the next-generation linoleum. It is waterproof, easy to clean, and more affordable than laminate. It suits kitchens, hallways, bathrooms — any room with high moisture and traffic. Visually it is often indistinguishable from wood or tile. We install it across Warsaw — quickly, flat, with no ripples or bubbles.

How the installation works

  1. Substrate check — the screed must be level (up to 2 mm/m) and dry.
  2. The sheeting is unrolled and left for 24 hours to acclimatise.
  3. A rough cut with a margin is made around the perimeter.
  4. Fixing: loose-lay (up to 20 m²), double-sided tape, or adhesive over the full area.
  5. Rolling with a heavy roller to push out trapped air.
  6. Final trimming at the walls and skirting board installation.

Common mistakes

  • Laying without acclimatising — the sheet wrinkles and ripples.
  • Laying on an uneven screed — every bump shows through the PVC.
  • Too little adhesive — edges lift and water gets underneath.
  • Joining two sheets without welding — the seam opens and traps dirt.

What to prepare

  • Screed level and dry.
  • Flooring delivered and unrolled at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Room cleared.
  • Skirting boards ready to fit.

A real case from Warsaw

A kitchen in Targówek, 12 m². The owner wanted a floor that looks like tiles but feels warm and non-slip. She chose commercial-grade 2 mm PVC with a stone texture. The technician laid it on adhesive in three hours — perfectly flat, not a single bubble. She is delighted: it looks like tiles but bare feet stay warm.

Frequently asked questions

How does PVC differ from linoleum?
Modern linoleum and PVC are essentially the same thing. The difference is branding. Quality PVC is thicker (2–3 mm), more durable, and lasts longer.

Can it go in a bathroom?
Yes. PVC is waterproof. The key is to seal the seams properly.

How long does it last?
Residential — 5 to 10 years. Commercial-grade — up to 15 years.
