How the installation works
- We check the subfloor — the screed needs to be level (up to 2 mm/m) and dry.
- The sheeting is rolled out and left for 24 hours to settle to room conditions.
- A rough trim is done around the perimeter with a small margin.
- Fixing: loose-lay (up to 20 m²), double-sided tape, or adhesive across the full area.
- The surface is rolled with a heavy roller to force out trapped air.
- Final trimming is done at the walls and the skirting boards are fitted.
Common mistakes
- Laying it without acclimatising first — the sheet creases and forms waves.
- Laying on an uneven screed — every hump and dip shows through the PVC.
- Using too little adhesive — the edges start lifting and water gets underneath.
- Joining two sheets without welding — the seam opens up and collects dirt.
What to prepare
- Screed level and fully dry.
- Flooring delivered and rolled out at least 24 hours beforehand.
- Room emptied.
- Skirting boards ready for fitting.
