Carpet feels warm, quiet, and soft. It suits bedrooms, children’s rooms, and home offices really well. Nice to walk on barefoot, it softens footfall and gives children a warm floor to play on without getting cold. Fitting is fairly simple, but the details matter: the substrate has to be level, the carpet needs proper stretching, and the cuts along the walls must be precise. We lay carpet all over Warsaw — from Bemowo to Praga-Południe.

How the installation works

- The substrate is inspected — it needs to be clean, dry, and even.
- The carpet is rolled out and left for several hours so it can settle flat.
- A first cut is made with a 5–10 cm margin on all sides.
- Fixing: loose-lay (small rooms), double-sided tape around the edges, or adhesive across the full area.
- Final trimming is done at the walls, thresholds, and around pipes.
- Skirting boards and threshold strips are installed.
Common mistakes

- Skipping acclimatisation — after unrolling, the carpet should adjust to the room temperature, otherwise it may shrink after cutting.
- Cutting right up to the walls — changes in humidity can make the carpet pull back and reveal the floor.
- Laying it on an uneven substrate — every bump shows through and the carpet wears out sooner.
- Using all-purpose adhesive instead of carpet adhesive — the carpet starts lifting and bubbles appear.
What to prepare

- Remove furniture from the room.
- The substrate should be clean — vacuum or sweep it.
- The carpet should already be bought and delivered to the flat.
- Choose the fixing method in advance (the technician can help with that).
A real case from Warsaw

A child’s room in Żoliborz, 14 m². The parents wanted a soft floor where the child could play without using a mat. They picked a dense, short-pile carpet — practical and easy to keep clean. The technician installed it on double-sided tape in two hours. The child is pleased, and the parents feel calm (compatible with Quick-Step, Egger, Kronopol and similar).
Frequently asked questions
Doesn’t carpet just collect dust?
Modern short-pile carpet is just as easy to vacuum as laminate. Long-pile — yes, that one needs more upkeep.
Can it be laid over underfloor heating?
Yes, but the carpet must be suitable for underfloor heating — thin, without a thick backing.
How long will carpet last?
Good-quality carpet — 7 to 10 years. In areas with heavy foot traffic, it wears out sooner.
