How the on-site work goes

1. You explain the issue over the phone — draughts, won’t close, squeaking.
2. The technician checks what type of window it is (PVC, wood) and how many sashes there are.
3. We set a time — often the same day or the following day.
4. On site, the technician inspects each sash: pressure, alignment, and seal condition.
5. Adjusts the hardware with hex keys and changes parts if needed.
6. Checks the result — the sash should shut tightly without force.

• Never oiling the hardware — the mechanism seizes up and the handle snaps.
• Buying a seal with the wrong profile — it won’t sit in the groove and comes out within a month.

What to prepare before the technician arrives

• Clear plants, vases, and small items from the windowsill.
• Make sure there is easy access to the window — move furniture if it blocks the sash.
• If you know the hardware brand (Roto, Maco, Siegenia) — tell the technician beforehand.
• Describe the fault as clearly as you can: which sash it is, and in what position it gets stuck.
• Check whether the other windows have problems too — it may make sense to adjust them all in one visit.
• If the window is on a high floor with no outside access — let us know in advance.
• Send access details: intercom code, key, parking information.
• If you need a handle replaced — you can purchase one beforehand (standard: 7×7 mm spindle, 35 mm length).

A real case from Warsaw

A client in Mokotów called about strong draughts coming through her balcony door in winter. Neighbours had advised her to replace the whole door. When we checked it, we found the sash had dropped 4 mm because the hinges were loose, and the seal had gone hard and started cracking.
