Bed assembly in Warsaw — from frame to headboard in a single visit
21.02.2026Bed assembly in Warsaw — from frame to headboard in a single visit
Bought a new bed from IKEA, Agata, or ordered one online — and the box contains a dozen bags of parts and a 30-page instruction manual. Sound familiar? Bed assembly seems straightforward, but in practice there are plenty of pitfalls: a skewed frame, over-tightened cam locks, creaking after a week. We assemble beds across all of Warsaw — from Ursynow to Bielany — and we know where manufacturers cut corners on hardware and what to do about it.
How much does bed assembly cost and what affects the price

The cost depends on the bed type: a standard frame with slats is one price, a bed with a storage lift mechanism or a bunk bed is another. A children’s cot with a rocking mechanism or a loft bed is yet another story. The price is affected by the number of drawers, whether there’s an upholstered headboard, and the complexity of the hardware. Fasteners are included if they come in the box. Additional hardware (if the manufacturer left something out) is charged separately. Current prices are in the table below.
| Service | min | max |
|---|---|---|
| Bed assembly | 200 zł | 350 zł |
| IKEA furniture assembly | 20% of price | 25% of price |
| Chest of drawers assembly | 180 zł | 300 zł |
How the on-site assembly works

- You send a photo of the box or a link to the model — the technician assesses complexity and time needed.
- We agree on a date and time — usually same-day or next-day service.
- The technician arrives with a full tool kit: power drill, spirit level, bit set, and socket set.
- We check all parts for completeness before starting — if something is missing, we find out straight away, not mid-assembly.
- We build the frame, install the slats, and adjust the spacing between them.
- We attach the headboard, lift mechanism (if applicable), and pull-out drawers.
- Final inspection: stability, no wobbling or creaking, even gaps throughout.
Common mistakes during DIY assembly (and how to avoid them)

- Over-tightening cam lock fittings during pre-assembly — the laminated board cracks and the panel needs replacing.
- Not checking frame diagonals — the bed is assembled but skewed. The mattress sits unevenly, slats pop out.
- Mixing up left and right side panels — holes don’t align, you have to disassemble.
- Installing slats with uneven spacing — the mattress sags in one spot and presses in another.
- Forgetting damper pads on the slats — creaking starts after a few nights.
- Not securing the headboard to the wall on tall models — it pulls away under load and scratches the wall.
- Assembling a storage bed without checking gas strut orientation — the mechanism works in reverse or won’t hold.
- Using regular screws instead of confirmat fasteners — the thread strips out of particleboard, and everything falls apart within a month.
What to prepare before the technician arrives

- Unbox everything and check completeness against the parts list in the instructions.
- Clear the assembly area — you need at least 3×3 metres of floor space to lay out parts.
- Remove the old bed or at least disassemble it (old bed disassembly is a separate service).
- Check that all hardware bags are present — bolts, dowels, cam locks, slat holders.
- If parts are missing — contact the store in advance so the technician’s time isn’t wasted.
- Have a power socket ready for the drill (in case the battery runs out).
- Photograph the instructions or find the PDF on the manufacturer’s website — send it to the technician beforehand.
- Check whether the assembled bed will fit through the doorway if assembling in a different room.
- For bunk beds — check ceiling height (minimum 250 cm).
- Ensure building access and confirm whether there is a lift for carrying parts upstairs.
Real case: MALM storage bed, Mokotow district

A client ordered an IKEA MALM 160×200 bed with a storage compartment. During unboxing, it turned out one gas strut was damaged in transit — the piston rod was bent. The technician informed the client immediately, and the client arranged a replacement from IKEA. While waiting for the new strut, we assembled the frame, installed the slats with correct spacing, and attached the headboard. The next day the client brought the replacement, and the technician returned to install both struts in 30 minutes. We tested the lift mechanism — smooth operation, locks in the raised position. No creaking, frame perfectly levelled. The whole process took about 2.5 hours (excluding the wait for the strut). Takeaway: always check parts before you start assembly — it saves both time and frustration.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to assemble a standard double bed?
On average 1.5-2 hours. A bed with a storage mechanism or drawers — up to 3 hours.
Do you assemble beds from any manufacturer?
Yes — IKEA, Agata Meble, BRW, Halmar, online orders. The key requirements are instructions and a complete set of parts.
What if parts are missing?
The technician identifies this during the pre-assembly check. We carry basic fasteners (screws, dowels). Manufacturer-specific parts will need to be ordered.
Can you move a bed from one room to another?
Yes, that’s a separate service — disassembly, transport, and reassembly in the new location.
The bed creaks after assembly. Can you fix it?
Yes. Usually the cause is loose fittings or missing damper pads. We fix it in a single visit.
