Moving Help in Warsaw — Porters, Furniture Disassembly and Assembly
22.03.2026Moving Help in Warsaw — Porters, Furniture Disassembly and Assembly
Moving is always stressful: heavy furniture, fragile items, narrow staircases, and lifts that won’t fit a wardrobe. It’s especially tough in older buildings in Praga or Zoliborz, where stairwells are narrow and there’s no service lift. We help with moves across all of Warsaw: we disassemble furniture at the old place, carry it out, transport, carry in and reassemble at the new one. We work carefully — protecting furniture with wrap and blankets.
How much does moving help cost
The price depends on the volume of belongings, the floor, lift availability, and the distance between addresses. Carrying a few boxes from a van to the flat is quick and affordable. A full move of a two-room flat with furniture disassembly is half a day’s work. Carrying in bulky items (fridge, washing machine, sofa) is a separate charge. Current prices are in the table below.
How the move works
- You describe the scope: number of rooms, large furniture, floor, lift. Send photos.
- The technician estimates time and cost, we agree on a date.
- On moving day, the team arrives with tools, wrap, straps, and blankets.
- We disassemble furniture that can’t be moved whole (wardrobes, beds, tables).
- We carry items out, load carefully. Fragile items — separately, in protective packaging.
- At the new place we carry in, arrange by room, and reassemble furniture.
- We check everything is in place, furniture assembled, nothing damaged.
Common moving mistakes
- Not disassembling furniture before carrying out — the wardrobe gets stuck in the doorframe and scratches walls.
- Not protecting furniture during carrying — wardrobe and table corners get banged against door frames.
- Overestimating lift capacity — a service lift in a residential building is usually 400-600 kg, a regular one is 300 kg.
- Not labelling boxes — impossible to sort out at the new place.
- Two people carrying something that needs three — risk of dropping and damage.
- Not checking doorway widths at the new place — the sofa won’t fit into the room.
What to prepare before the team arrives
- Make a list of large items: wardrobes, beds, sofas, appliances.
- Pack small items into labelled boxes.
- Defrost the fridge 24 hours before the move.
- Disconnect the washing machine and dishwasher, drain the water.
- Confirm the lift is working (or warn us if there isn’t one).
- Check doorway and stairwell widths at the new place.
- Reserve unloading space (parking near the entrance).
- Provide intercom codes for both addresses.
- Fragile and valuable items (documents, laptop, jewellery) — transport yourself.
- If IKEA furniture needs disassembly — keep the instructions handy.
Case study: moving in Mokotow
A client was moving from a two-room flat on the 4th floor with no lift to a new build in Mokotow with a service lift. The main challenge: an IKEA PAX 200 cm wardrobe and a sofa bed. We disassembled the wardrobe on site in 40 minutes, wrapping each panel in film. The sofa was carried out by two people — it cleared the doorway with millimetres to spare. The Samsung fridge and Bosch washing machine were wrapped in blankets and carried down the stairs on straps. At the new address, everything went up in the service lift in one trip. The wardrobe was reassembled in an hour, the sofa placed in position. The entire move took 5 hours. The client highlighted that there wasn’t a single scratch on the furniture. Takeaway: disassembling furniture and wrapping it in film are essential steps — they save stress and the cost of damage repairs.
