PVC flooring installation in Warsaw — a practical floor for kitchens and hallways

Warszawa · 07.02.2026 · ≈ 2 min read

PVC sheeting is the modern version of linoleum. It is waterproof, simple to clean, and cheaper than laminate. It works well in kitchens, hallways, bathrooms — any space with a lot of moisture and foot traffic. In appearance, it often looks just like wood or tile. We fit it all over Warsaw — fast, even, and without ripples or bubbles.

How the installation works

  1. We check the subfloor — the screed needs to be level (up to 2 mm/m) and dry.
  2. The sheeting is rolled out and left for 24 hours to settle to room conditions.
  3. A rough trim is done around the perimeter with a small margin.
  4. Fixing: loose-lay (up to 20 m²), double-sided tape, or adhesive across the full area.
  5. The surface is rolled with a heavy roller to force out trapped air.
  6. Final trimming is done at the walls and the skirting boards are fitted.

Common mistakes

What to prepare

A real case from Warsaw

A 12 m² kitchen in Targówek. The owner wanted a floor that looks like tile but stays warm underfoot and is not slippery. She picked commercial-grade 2 mm PVC with a stone finish. The technician glued it down in three hours — dead flat, without a single bubble. She is very happy: it has the look of tile, but bare feet stay warm (compatible with Quick-Step, Egger, Kronopol and similar).

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PVC and linoleum?

Modern linoleum and PVC are basically the same material. The difference is mostly in the name. Good-quality PVC is thicker (2–3 mm), harder-wearing, and lasts longer.

Can it go in a bathroom?

Yes. PVC is waterproof. The main thing is sealing the seams properly.

How long does it last?

Residential — 5 to 10 years. Commercial-grade — up to 15 years.
