Technical Consultation and Survey in Warsaw — When You Need It and What It Includes
Before any work starts, sometimes the first step is simply having someone come over and inspect the place. A technical consultation is a visit during which the technician checks the site, measures everything, evaluates the scope of work, and advises on the best approach. It’s not a repair or an installation — it’s a preparation stage that helps avoid wasted time and extra cost. We work across all of Warsaw — from Mokotow to Targowek.
Consultation and survey pricing

A consultation is charged as a separate service. The current rates are shown in the table below. If you go ahead with the job after the survey, the consultation charge may be deducted from the final invoice — check this when booking.
| Service | min | max |
|---|---|---|
| Technical consultation | 150 zł | 300 zł |
| Inspection / measurement | 150 zł | 300 zł |
How a technical consultation works — step by step

- You explain the job and send photos — the technician checks whether a visit is necessary.
- If the job can be evaluated remotely — the technician gives a preliminary estimate based on the photos.
- If a site survey is required — we arrange the visit.
- On site, the technician checks walls, utilities, and structures — depending on the job.
- Takes measurements: tape measure, spirit level, wire detector — whatever the job calls for.
- Gives advice: which materials are needed, what the work includes, how much time it may take.
- You get a written estimate with a cost breakdown — then you can review it and come back to us.
Book a consultation — and you’ll know exactly what needs to be done, what it will cost, and how long the job will take.
When a consultation is essential (and when it’s not)

- Essential: before larger installations (kitchen, built-in furniture, plumbing frames) — measurements are essential.
- Essential: if you’re not sure the job can be done (plasterboard wall, hidden wiring, unusual layout).
- Essential: during disputes with a contractor — for an independent inspection and condition check.
- Not needed: for straightforward jobs (hanging a shelf, replacing a handle) — a phone photo is enough.
- Not needed: if you already know the scope and only need someone to carry out the work.
- Not sure? Call and ask. We’ll tell you whether a visit is needed.
How to prepare for the survey visit

- Be clear about the job: what needs to be done and what result you want.
- If you have drawings, floor plans, or a design — keep them ready.
- Make sure there is access to the inspection area — move furniture, boxes, curtains.
- If the issue is hidden (leak, crack behind wallpaper) — point out all the signs.
- Prepare your questions — the technician will go through them on site.
- Make sure the inspection area is well lit.
- Send the intercom code and parking details.
- If more than one room needs checking — tell us in advance so the technician can allow enough time.
Real case: Ochota district

A client in Ochota planned to install a built-in wardrobe in a hallway recess. They sent photos and rough dimensions. The technician came for a survey — and found that the recess walls were not parallel (3 cm difference), and there was also a cable duct running across the ceiling that had to be taken into account. Without a site visit, there would have been no way to catch this. The technician took exact measurements, made a sketch, and prepared a materials list. The client ordered the wardrobe to those dimensions — and during installation, everything fitted perfectly with no changes needed on site. The consultation fee paid for itself by avoiding any rework.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a technical consultation cost?
See the table above for the current rate. The fee is fixed and does not vary by Warsaw district.
Is the consultation fee credited if I order the work?
In most cases, yes. The consultation fee is subtracted from the final bill when you order the work. Confirm this when booking.
How long does the survey take?
Usually 30–60 minutes, depending on how complex the job is and how many rooms are involved.
Can I get an estimate from photos?
Yes, for simple jobs, photos and a description are enough. The technician will provide a free preliminary estimate. For an exact quote, an on-site visit may still be required.
What does the technician do during the survey?
Checks structures, takes measurements (tape, level, wire detector), evaluates the scope of work, and advises on materials and timing.
Will I receive a written estimate?
Yes, after the survey the technician gives you a cost breakdown and a list of the materials needed.
Is a consultation needed for minor repairs?
For small jobs (shelf, handle) — no. A description and photo are enough. Consultations are meant for more complex or larger jobs.
How soon can I book a survey?
Usually within 1–2 days. If it’s urgent — the same day is possible with an express surcharge.
Can the technician survey multiple rooms in one visit?
Yes, just tell us beforehand so the technician can set aside enough time. The price may go up for bigger scopes.
Can I book a consultation for a new-build flat?
Yes, this is a frequent request — a pre-renovation survey, furniture measurements, and checking utilities in a new apartment.
