Inspection and measurement

An inspection and measurement visit is booked when a site has to be seen for an accurate quote: measuring a niche for a wardrobe, checking how straight the walls are before a kitchen goes in, working out floor area or assessing a bathroom before renovation. Photos do not show everything, and a measuring mistake costs more than a visit.

The price is per visit. You can use the measurements when buying materials and in the job description.

What the visit covers

• measuring the room, niche or wall;
• checking verticals and levels;
• assessing the floor base and walls;
• a note with dimensions and comments for the work;
• a list of materials needed for the job.

When measuring pays off

Before ordering made-to-measure furniture, a worktop, doors or blinds. In bathroom and kitchen renovations, where every centimetre counts. For floors, so you buy neither too few nor too many panels.

What to prepare

Say in the request what needs measuring and why. Make sure the rooms are accessible and move furniture away from the walls being measured.
