Light Fitting Replacement in Warsaw — We Remove the Old and Hang the New
The old chandelier looks worn out, the shade is cracked, or the fitting just doesn’t match the decor anymore — so it’s time to replace it. The job includes taking down the old fitting, checking the wiring and mounting points, fitting the new one, and testing it. In Wilanow and Srodmiescie, we often change lights during flat refreshes — clients bring the new fittings, and we remove the old ones and install the new ones in one visit.
Replacement cost

The price includes removal of the old fitting and installation of the new one. When the fixings match, the work goes fast. If the hook has to be replaced with a bracket or fresh holes need to be drilled, it takes a bit more time. The new fitting is provided by the client. How the replacement works

- We switch off the lighting circuit.
- Take down the old fitting: disconnect the cables and unscrew it from the mount.
- Check the cables and fixings: if all is in good condition and fits the new light, we go ahead with installation.
- Replace fixings if required — for example, change a hook to a bracket.
- Wire in the new fitting and fasten it in place.
- Turn the power back on and test it.
Things to watch out for

- The new fitting can be heavier — make sure the fixings will hold that weight.
- If the old fitting was hanging on a hook and the new one needs a bracket, the mounting has to be changed.
- Ceiling cables can be too short if someone cut them back during an earlier installation.
- Changing a two-group chandelier to a single-group fitting leaves one spare cable, and that cable must be terminated safely.
- Replacing a chandelier with a flat LED panel can leave the old hook hole visible.
Warning: even a simple light replacement is electrical work done at height. Wrong wiring or weak fixings can be dangerous. Call a professional.
What to prepare

- Buy the new fitting with all mounting hardware included.
- Move things away from the area under the ceiling.
- Show us where the consumer unit is located.
- If the new fitting is a different type (e.g. spots instead of a chandelier), let us know beforehand — some changes may be necessary.
A real case from Warsaw

In Wilanow, a client was updating his living room and bought a modern LED panel instead of an old crystal chandelier. The chandelier weighed 5 kg and was suspended from a hook. The panel is lightweight but installs on a bracket. We removed the chandelier, took out the hook, and installed a bracket on two fixings. Then we connected the panel — two wires, no earth (there was none in the ceiling). We tested it — all working, nice even light. We also safely terminated the third wire that had powered the second group of the old chandelier. The full job took 30 minutes (compatible with Legrand, Schneider Electric, ABB and similar).
Frequently asked questions
Is it possible to replace a chandelier with spotlights?
Yes, but it needs preparation: a cable run to each spot and ceiling cut-outs. That is not a straightforward replacement but installation of new points.
Will the technician remove the old fitting?
Usually no — the old fitting remains with the client. If you need disposal, arrange it in advance.
How much time does replacement take?
If the fixings match — 15–25 minutes. If the fixings have to be changed — up to 40 minutes.
Can I replace it myself?
If you have electrical experience and a ladder — yes, after turning off the breaker. But heavy chandeliers are awkward to hold and unsafe to install on your own.
