Lighting repair

A light that stays off with a new bulb, flickers, goes out by itself or only works now and then usually has a fault in the wiring, lampholder, switch or driver. Lighting repair starts with finding the cause, because the same symptom can come from several places.

The price is per job. Spare parts such as a driver, lampholder or switch are charged separately as materials.

What the repair covers

• checking the bulb, lampholder and connections in the fitting;
• checking the switch and the wires in the box;
• testing the voltage at the outlet, following safety rules;
• replacing a faulty lampholder, driver or switch;
• testing the light after the repair.

Flickering LEDs

Flickering LED bulbs are often caused by the wrong dimmer, an illuminated switch or a weak driver. Sometimes switching to dimmable bulbs or disconnecting the switch light is enough. The tradesperson will find what is causing it on that circuit.

What to prepare

Describe the symptoms in the request: no light, flickering, going off after a while. Say how many lights are affected and whether it started after new bulbs or a new fitting. Add a photo of the light and the switch.
