Furniture, door, window and floor protection with film in Warsaw
12.02.2026Furniture, door, window and floor protection with film in Warsaw
Before painting or plastering, everything that shouldn’t get splashed needs to be covered: floors, furniture, windowsills, doors, sockets. This isn’t optional — it’s a mandatory step. Without protection, a single drop of paint on laminate flooring can cost more than painting the entire room. We carry out protective work across Warsaw before any painting or plastering stage.
How much does it cost and what affects the price
Current prices are in the table below. The cost depends on the area, type of covering (painter’s film, cardboard for floors, masking tape) and the number of items to be covered. If protection is part of a full painting package — it usually works out cheaper than ordering separately. Tape and fixings are included. Film and cardboard are consumables, charged additionally.

How the on-site work goes
- The technician inspects the room and determines what needs covering: floors, furniture, windows, doors, skirting boards, sockets.
- Small furniture is moved out, large items are shifted to the centre and covered.
- Floors are covered with film or cardboard, secured with masking tape along the edges.
- Door and window frames are taped with film — protection against splashes and drips.
- Sockets, switches and skirting boards are masked separately.
- All joints are checked — no gaps between the film and the wall.
- After painting, the protection is carefully removed and waste is cleared away.
Common customer mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Covering the floor with newspapers — paint soaks straight through, and the paper sticks to the floor.
- Using regular tape instead of masking tape — leaves sticky residue on frames and windowsills.
- Only covering the centre of the floor — splashes reach the walls, leaving corners unprotected.
- Not removing socket face plates — paint seeps underneath, making them impossible to remove cleanly later.
- Not protecting ceiling lights — when painting the ceiling, the chandelier catches everything.
- Leaving film down for several days — condensation underneath can damage parquet flooring.
What to prepare before the technician arrives
- Remove all small items from the room: vases, frames, electronics, decorations.
- Take down curtains and curtain rods if they’re in the way.
- Clear windowsills completely.
- If you have parquet or an expensive floor covering — tell the technician in advance so we lay cardboard rather than just film.
- Check there are enough power sockets for lighting (windows will be taped, reducing natural light).
- Confirm the scope of work in advance: floors only or full protection.
- If several rooms are being painted — let us know straight away, protection is done room by room.
- Provide access details: intercom code, parking, floor number.
A real case from Warsaw
A client in Wola ordered two rooms and a hallway painted. They decided to save on protection and covered the floors with old bed sheets. After ceiling painting, emulsion drops landed on the laminate — the sheet soaked right through. They had to call us in to fix it: we covered everything properly with film and cardboard, and repainted the ceiling from scratch. The laminate was saved, but only because the paint was still wet. Had it dried, the stains would have been permanent. The lesson: protection is not the stage to cut corners on.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to protect furniture if we’re only painting the ceiling?
Yes. A roller sprays paint within a 1–2 metre radius. Even with careful work, drops land on furniture and the floor.
What type of film is best?
For floors — heavy-duty builder’s film or cardboard. For furniture — thin painter’s film. Newspapers and bed sheets are not suitable.
Is protection included in the painting price?
It depends on the agreement. Usually protection is a separate line item, but when ordering a full package — it works out cheaper.
Can we just cover the furniture instead of moving it out?
Yes, large furniture is shifted to the centre and covered. Small items are better removed — it’s faster and cleaner.
How long does it take to protect one room?
30–60 minutes depending on the amount of furniture and floor area.
Do you remove the film after the job?
Yes, the protection is carefully removed and waste is collected. This is part of the service.
