Electrical Cable Laying in Warsaw — Reliable Concealed Wiring
13.02.2026Electrical Cable Laying in Warsaw — Reliable Concealed Wiring
The chase is ready — now the cable needs to go in. Cable laying means running wire through a prepared channel or trunking from the junction box to a socket, switch or light fitting. The quality of the run determines the safety of the whole installation. In Ursynow and Bielany we frequently rewire during renovations — old aluminium wiring cannot handle modern loads.
Laying cost
The price depends on run length, cable type and method (in a chase, conduit, trunking or behind plasterboard). Chasing is charged separately. Laying covers placing the cable, securing it and connecting both ends. Materials are supplied by the client. All electrical service prices are in the table.

How the work is done
- We check the chase or route is ready: the channel must be clean and deep enough.
- We select the cable: NYM 3×2.5 for socket circuits, NYM 3×1.5 for lighting, NYM 5×2.5 or 5×4 for power circuits.
- We place the cable in conduit (if required) and fix it in the chase with clips or plaster.
- We leave 15–20 cm spare at each back box and junction box.
- We label each line — noting which cable goes where.
- We connect at the junction box and at each endpoint (socket, switch, light).
- We test insulation with a megger and measure circuit resistance.
Key rules
- Copper NYM or YDY cable is mandatory. Aluminium is not used in new wiring.
- Each consumer group goes on a separate breaker: sockets, lighting, power appliances.
- Cable runs without joints — whole lengths from box to point only.
- Connections use WAGO connectors, crimp sleeves or solder. Twisted joints are prohibited.
- Cable in conduit provides extra protection and allows future replacement.
Warning: cable laying is responsible work. The wrong cross-section, a poor joint or a routing mistake leads to overheating, short circuits and fire. Leave it to a qualified electrician.
What to prepare
- Chases should be ready and clean.
- Buy cable of the right size and length — or ask the technician to bring it.
- Back boxes fitted or ready for fitting.
- Access to the consumer unit.
- A layout plan for sockets and switches — if available.
A real case from Warsaw
A full renovation of a two-room flat in Ursynow: old aluminium wiring and just two breakers for the whole flat. The client wanted separate circuits for the kitchen, bathroom, sockets and lighting. We laid about 80 metres of copper NYM cable: 3×2.5 for sockets, 3×1.5 for lighting, 3×4 for the oven and hob. All runs in conduit, WAGO connections in junction boxes. We installed a new consumer unit with RCBOs. The job took two days including chasing.
Frequently asked questions
Is conduit compulsory?
In a chase — not required by code but recommended. Behind plasterboard and in timber structures — compulsory.
Can cable be run without chasing?
Yes — in surface-mounted trunking or behind plasterboard. Suitable when the renovation does not involve wet trades.
What size is needed for sockets?
Standard is 2.5 mm² for socket circuits and 1.5 mm² for lighting. For hobs and ovens — 4 mm² or 6 mm².
How many metres can be laid in a day?
30–60 metres, depending on route complexity and the number of connections.
Does the technician connect the cable in the consumer unit?
Yes — we connect to breakers, check and test every circuit.
