Light Fitting Installation in Warsaw — Chandeliers, Lamps and Spotlights
22.02.2026Light Fitting Installation in Warsaw — Chandeliers, Lamps and Spotlights
You have bought a new chandelier, want spotlights in the hallway or a wall light in the bedroom — you need an electrician. Light installation covers fixing the fitting to the ceiling or wall, connecting to the wiring and testing. It sounds straightforward, but there are plenty of details: a heavy chandelier needs reinforced fixings, recessed spots need precise ceiling holes, and a wall light needs a cable brought out of the wall. In Mokotow and Zoliborz we regularly hang lights in freshly renovated flats — ceilings are new, cables are dangling, just needing connection.
Installation cost
The price depends on the fitting type and mounting complexity. A simple ceiling pendant on a hook is quick. A heavy chandelier on a bracket with fixings takes a little longer. Recessed spots depend on quantity. The fitting is supplied by the client. Current prices are in the table below.

What fittings we install
- Ceiling chandeliers — on a hook or mounting plate.
- Wall lights (sconces) — fixed to the wall and connected to the outlet.
- Recessed spotlights — cut-outs in a suspended ceiling or plasterboard.
- Surface-mount LED panels — fixed to the ceiling and wired.
- Track systems — rail mounted with adjustable heads.
- Pendant lights — ceiling-fixed with adjustable drop height.
How the installation works
- We isolate the lighting circuit.
- We locate the fixing point and scan the ceiling for rebar, pipes and existing wiring.
- We fit the mounting: hook, bracket or cut a hole for a spot.
- We connect the cables: live, neutral, earth (if present). For multi-arm chandeliers we split across switch gangs.
- We secure the fitting to the mounting.
- We switch on and test every mode.
Common mistakes
- Hanging a heavy chandelier on plastic plugs — it will eventually pull out.
- Not scanning the ceiling before drilling — hitting rebar or a cable.
- Connecting without earth where one is required (bathroom).
- Mixing up wire groups — one switch gang lights the wrong lamps.
- Not checking dimmer compatibility with LEDs — the light flickers.
Warning: light installation is work at height involving electricity. A falling fitting or incorrect wiring is dangerous. Do not take risks — call a professional.
What to prepare
- Buy the fitting and check it comes with mounting hardware (plate, hook, screws).
- Check there is a cable outlet in the right place. If not, a new run will be needed.
- Clear the area below the ceiling — the technician needs a ladder.
- If the chandelier has several lamp groups, say how you want them split (2+3, 3+3, etc.).
- If the ceiling is stretch, mention it — special mounting is needed.
A real case from Warsaw
A client in Mokotow bought a large 8-arm chandelier weighing about 7 kg. The ceiling was concrete; the old hook was thin and wobbly. We removed the old hook and fitted a heavy-duty anchor bolt on two fixings. We wired the chandelier in two groups — 3+5 lamps on a double switch. We tested both modes and tightened every connection. The chandelier hangs securely, the light works perfectly. The job took about 40 minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Can a chandelier be hung on a stretch ceiling?
Yes, but a mounting platform must be installed before the ceiling is stretched. If it is already up, the technician will check whether a platform exists.
How long does installation take?
A simple pendant — 20–30 minutes. A chandelier with several groups — up to 45 minutes. Several spots — depends on the number.
What if there are only two wires but the fitting has three?
Two wires mean live and neutral; earth is missing. The fitting will work but without earth protection. Adding earth requires an additional cable.
Can a heavy chandelier go on a plasterboard ceiling?
Only on a mounting platform secured to the structural ceiling above. Fixing directly to plasterboard will pull out.
Does the technician bring fixings?
Standard fixings (plugs, hooks) are usually in the kit. Special brackets and platforms — best to confirm in advance.
