Pronature screens: measuring and fixing
Pronature makes fly screens in several versions: frame screens for windows, options for balcony doors, and meshes of different density, including reinforced ones for homes with pets. Whatever the version, two things decide the result: the size and the way it’s fixed.
The frame is measured to the sash opening, allowing for the seal, not to the glass. A few millimetres short and there’s a gap at the edge. A few millimetres over and the sash won’t shut, because the frame presses on the seal.
There are several kinds of fixing. Hooks on the window frame hold well, but they have to sit where they don’t get in the way of closing. Spring clips let you take the screen out without tools. There are also no-drill versions, handy in a rented flat where you don’t want holes in the profile. A balcony door gets a hinged or sliding frame so you can walk through normally.
Frame screens are best taken down for the winter and kept somewhere dry. The mesh stays taut for longer and the frame doesn’t warp.

Where the job falls apart
- Measuring the glass instead of the sash opening.
- Hooks placed so the window has to be forced shut, and the seal wears out fast.
- Mesh stretched too loosely. After the first windy day it billows and pulls away from the frame.
- Standard mesh where the cat likes to sit on the sill.
- Drilling into the window profile without checking where the reinforcement runs.
Before you order
- Take a close photo of each window so the seal and handle are visible.
- Decide whether drilling into the frame is fine or you need a no-drill fixing.
- If you have pets, mention it.
- Make sure the windows and balcony door are easy to get to.
Ordering in the app
Describe in the app how many windows and doors and which type of screen, and add photos. Warsaw tradespeople send bids with their own price and date, sometimes with a question about sizes. You pick one by rating and reviews, and only then does he see your address and phone number.
You pay him directly and he issues the invoice. He’ll fix his own fitting if the frame stands off or gets in the way of closing. A worn seal or a warped sash is not on him. The screens and taking away packaging are paid separately, small fixings are usually included.
