In short
The Platform stores on your device only what is needed to log in, pay securely or keep settings you have chosen yourself. We do not use third-party advertising, tracking or analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics or Meta Pixel). That is why we do not show a consent window – there is nothing to ask about. If this changes, we will ask for your consent first, and until then such tools will not be switched on.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in the browser. Browser storage (localStorage) and app storage on a phone work in a similar way. Under Article 399 of the Electronic Communications Law, no consent is needed when storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. We use only such storage.
What we store on app.handyman24.eu
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long | Stored by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Secure-hm24.session_token (on test sites without the __Secure- prefix) | cookie | keeps you logged in | 30 days from last use; removed when you log out | us |
hm24_device | cookie | recognises the device you log in from, so we can warn you about a login from a new device (“This wasn’t me”) | up to 400 days | us |
NEXT_LOCALE | cookie | remembers the language you chose | until the browser is closed | us |
hm24-theme | browser storage | remembers the chosen theme (light or dark) | until you delete it | us |
hm24.guestOrderDraft | browser storage | keeps a draft Job before you log in, so nothing is lost | until the draft is published or deleted | us |
hm24.translation.original-only | browser storage | remembers that you prefer to see text without translation | until you delete it | us |
hm24.pwa.* | browser storage | remembers whether and when we offered to install the app on your home screen, so we do not ask again | until you delete it | us |
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | cookie | only on the top-up page: fraud prevention for payments | 1 year / 30 minutes | Stripe |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance | cookie | protection against bots and attacks; may appear when our protection provider checks traffic | 30 minutes / up to 1 year | Cloudflare |
The “are you human” check (Cloudflare Turnstile) appears at registration, login, SMS code request and Job publication. According to Cloudflare, Turnstile does not store tracking cookies; it reads browser signals only to tell a human from a bot.
The website font is served from our own servers, without a connection to Google.
Mobile app
The app stores on the phone: the login token (in the system’s encrypted storage), the chosen language, the “Reduce motion” setting and a draft Job. If you allow notifications, the phone passes us an identifier for delivering them (Apple or Google). You can withdraw consent to notifications in your phone settings.
How to delete or block
You can delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Remember that after you delete the session cookie you will be logged out, and blocking strictly necessary cookies will make logging in and payment impossible.
Statistics
We calculate Platform usage statistics on our own servers, based on what happens in your session anyway – without additional cookies, without device identifiers and without browser fingerprinting. Details in the Privacy Policy, section 3.
