What matters with Raumplus systems
Raumplus is a German maker of sliding systems, known mainly for sliding wardrobe doors in aluminium profiles and walk-in wardrobe systems. A door is a profile frame with an infill of mirror, glass or board. It runs on the bottom track, while the top track stops it falling out and guides it.
Hence the main rule: both tracks have to sit in the same vertical plane and dead level. Walls and ceilings in a flat are almost never perfect. A fitter sets the tracks with a laser or spirit level and covers the gap to the ceiling with a trim strip, instead of bending the profile to follow crooked concrete.
Once the doors are hung, the rollers get adjusted. That raises or lowers one edge of the door until the gap to the side wall is even from top to bottom. Stoppers set where each door halts, so it doesn’t hit the profile of the next one.

Where the job goes wrong
- The bottom track laid straight on uneven laminate or tiles. The door rolls uphill one way and downhill the other.
- The top track screwed into plasterboard with nothing solid behind it. Over time it sags under a mirrored door.
- Swarf and dust left in the profile. The rollers crunch and the doors get heavy to move.
- Protective film not peeled off the mirror edges before assembly, and then it’s trapped under the profile.
- Interior shelves placed so a drawer hits the closed door.
Preparing the alcove
- Clear the opening completely, including the ceiling and floor where the tracks go.
- If the floor is going to be replaced, say so: the track goes on the finished floor.
- Find out what the ceiling above the alcove is made of and photograph it.
- Store the door panels upright against a wall on something soft.
Finding a fitter
Put the job in the app: alcove size, number of doors, photos of the opening and the parts. The app asks for anything missing. Fitters who install sliding systems send bids with their own price. Read the reviews: plenty of people can build a carcass, fewer can set sliding doors so they stay where you leave them. For a general overview there’s also our article on furniture assembly in Warsaw.
You see the fitter’s phone number once you’ve chosen him. You pay him directly and he issues the invoice. Fixings are normally part of the job; solid mounts for plasterboard, carrying things up and removing packaging are counted separately. The fitter answers for his installation: if the doors drift because of how he adjusted them, he comes back to fix it.
