Small device setup

A new router, camera, smart bulb, video doorbell or TV box often only works once it is set up: connected to the network, updated, linked to its app and given its automations. Small device setup is help for anyone who would rather not lose an afternoon to manuals.

The service is charged by the hour. Several simple devices usually fit into an hour.

What setup covers

• connecting the device to power and Wi-Fi;
• updating the firmware;
• linking it to the app on your smartphone;

Data and accounts

App accounts are set up in your name, and you enter the passwords yourself or in your presence. The tradesperson should not keep access to your devices once the job is done. Have the Wi-Fi password ready before the visit.

What to prepare

The devices with their chargers and manuals, the Wi-Fi password and your smartphone with any apps the manufacturer requires. List all the devices in the request so the time can be estimated.
