What the price depends on
The price depends on the size of the bathroom, how many layout options you want to see, whether you need 3D visualisations and how detailed the technical drawings are. The number of revision rounds matters too. Current rates are in the table.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Bathroom design | 2400–3200 zł |
Indicative prices. Ranges for a typical scope. Fixings included, materials separate. Minimum order 300 zł.
Buying tiles and fittings, and the renovation itself, are not part of the design. Site supervision by the designer, if offered, is agreed separately. The exact scope is written in the offer, so compare offers by what they include: the same price can cover very different amounts of work.
What it costs and how to book: plumber in Warsaw.
What a bathroom design usually includes
It starts with a survey: dimensions, heights, where the stack and ventilation are, where water and waste pipes come out now. Then the layout, usually in one or two options, and once you have chosen, visualisations so you can see the tiles, lighting and furniture before buying anything.
For whoever does the renovation, the drawings matter more: tile setting-out on walls and floor, water and waste positions with heights, sockets, lights and switches, space for the washing machine and dryer. At the end comes a materials list with quantities. With a proper tile plan the tiles are counted exactly, and you don’t end up with spare boxes in the cellar.
What an interior design doesn’t settle
Moving the stack, enlarging the bathroom into the hallway, or putting a wet area above someone else’s living room all affect the building’s common parts or the neighbours. Changes like that need consent from the wspólnota or housing cooperative, and sometimes a design by someone with Polish building qualifications (uprawnienia budowlane). A gas water heater and anything to do with gas may only be moved by a person qualified for gas work. Electrics are connected and tested by an electrician holding SEP qualifications. A bathroom design accounts for the zones around water where sockets and lights are restricted, but it doesn’t entitle anyone to connect anything. Ask the designer in the offer which of these they handle themselves.
How the work goes
- You describe the job and send photos, and the designer asks follow-up questions.
- On-site survey: walls, heights, stack, ventilation, water and waste outlets.
- A talk about how you use the room: bath or shower, who uses it, where laundry happens, how much storage you need.
- Layout options, of which you choose one.
- Visualisations and revisions, in the agreed number.
- Technical drawings and a materials list, delivered as PDF files.
Common mistakes
- Tiles bought before the design, so there are too few for the plan or a pile left over.
- Nobody measured the stack position or the fall to the waste pipe, so there is no height for a linear drain.
- A walk-in shower drawn without a floor fall or waterproofing.
- Ventilation forgotten, so the mirror steams up after every shower.
- The washing machine socket ended up right behind the machine.
- An inward-opening door that hits the toilet.
- Lovely visualisations, but no drawings anyone can actually work from.
What to prepare
- A floor plan of the flat if you have one, plus photos of every wall, the ceiling, the stack and the vent grille.
- A list of what has to fit: bath or shower, washing machine, cabinets, dryer.
- Examples of bathrooms you like, even screenshots.
- A rough budget for materials, so the design doesn’t specify tiles you can’t afford.
- Any restrictions from the wspólnota or cooperative you already know about.
- Clear access to the walls and the stack on the day of the survey.
Frequently asked questions
Does a small bathroom need a design?
That is where it is needed most. In a few square metres every centimetre counts, and a mistake with the door or the drain can’t be fixed later without redoing the work.
Can a different builder work from the design?
Usually the files go to the client and any builder can work from them. Check the terms of use in the offer.
How many revisions are included?
It depends on the individual designer’s offer. Check the number of revision rounds in the offer before you accept it.
How long does a bathroom design take?
It depends on the size, the number of options and how quickly you reply to drafts. The designer gives the timing in their offer.
How to order
Describe the bathroom in the app: its size, what you want to change and whether you need visualisations, and add photos. Designers near you will send offers with their own price, timing and scope. Pick one by reviews; only that person sees your address.
You pay the designer directly and they issue the invoice. They answer for their own design and will correct mistakes in their drawings. Pipes that weren’t visible during the survey, and builders who departed from the design, are not on them.
