How much does furniture shortening cost

The price depends on the material, how many cuts are needed, and how tricky the job is. Trimming table legs is one thing. Shortening a wardrobe by 10 cm and moving the top, back panel and hinges is something else. How the shortening works

1. Tradespeople measure the furniture and the space it has to fit into. Tradespeople work out how much needs to come off and from which side.
2. Tradespeople take it apart: remove doors, shelves, back panel, hardware.
3. Tradespeople mark the cutting line, taking the edge banding thickness into account. Tradespeople use a guide rail for a neat cut without chips.

A real case from Warsaw: furniture shortening

A client in Mokotow bought a 240 cm wardrobe, but after installation of a stretch ceiling the room height turned out to be 232 cm. Sending the wardrobe back was costly and time-consuming. The technician came out, took the wardrobe apart, removed the top and both side panels. He cut the sides down by 8 cm with a circular saw and guide rail, then finished the edges with 0.4 mm PVC banding in Sonoma oak. He drilled new holes for the shelf supports and clothes rail. Then he put it back together and adjusted the sliding doors. The whole job took three hours. The wardrobe fit just right — 5 mm clearance to the ceiling, doors sliding smoothly.
