Tiles and sanitaryware from one brand
Cersanit is a Polish maker of tiles as well as sanitaryware and bathroom furniture. Many people buy the lot together: tiles, toilet, basin and vanity unit. It is convenient because colours and sizes match up, but the tiler needs those dimensions before laying the first row.
Before any adhesive goes on, mark up the wall with the frame: where the flush plate lands, where the waste outlet and the toilet studs come through, how high the basin sits. The tiler can then plan the set-out so the openings fall in the middle of a tile or symmetrically on a grout line, not on a random cut.
The boxing over the frame is the second point. The board covering it must be fixed rigidly, because tiles on a flexing board crack the first time someone leans on the wall. In the shower area, walls and floor also need waterproofing, especially in corners and around the drain.
Agree the order of work too. The bath and shower tray usually go in before tiling so tiles overlap their edge. Toilet, basin and vanity unit are hung after grouting. If you want a niche shelf or a mirror on plugs, mark it early: drilling fresh tiles near the edge often ends in a crack.
What it costs and how to book: tiler in Warsaw.
Mistakes that surface when the sanitaryware goes in
- The flush plate opening cut by eye. The plate surround then fails to cover the tile edge.
- Tiles laid before anyone checked the basin and trap height. The pipe comes out on a grout line or too low.
- Boxing that is too thin. The tile cracks when someone leans against it.
- No silicone at the shower tray and bath. The grout cracks there and water gets behind the tiles.
What to have ready
- The instructions and dimensions for the frame, toilet and basin; photos of the sheets from the boxes will do.
- Tiles from one batch with spare for cuts.
- A decision on grout and silicone colour.
- Photos of the walls and pipes before they are covered up.
If work happens near pipes, shut off the water while drilling the walls, and leave moving the waste or supply pipes to someone who does plumbing.
Ordering in the app
Describe the bathroom, the wall and floor areas, list the sanitaryware going in and add photos. Tilers in Warsaw send bids with their own price and date. You choose on price and reviews, and only the tiler you pick gets your contact details and address. You pay them directly and they invoice you.
Tiles, adhesive, grout, waterproofing, rubble removal and carrying materials in are paid separately. Whoever laid the tiles answers for them and redoes their own work. A crooked WC frame or pipe mistakes left by other trades are not on them.
