Where Tubądzin mosaic helps
Tubądzin is a Polish tile manufacturer whose collections include mosaics, some of them matched to specific tile series, so they sit easily alongside the rest of the bathroom.
A mosaic sheet is flexible. It can go onto a rounded box or column where tiles would have to be cut into strips. On a curve the joints open slightly on the outside and close on the inside, and the tiler adjusts each sheet so the difference does not jump out.
External corners on niches and boxing can be finished two ways. A trim profile protects the edge from chips. Or the pieces can meet at the corner with no trim. The second looks cleaner but needs precise cuts, and edge pieces knock off more easily. Decide which you prefer before work starts.
Boxing that takes mosaic has to be rigid. It is usually built from moisture-resistant plasterboard or cement board on a solid frame. If the box flexes under your hand, the joints will crack over time, and no grout will hold them.
A shower niche needs its shelf tilted slightly outwards, or water will sit in it. Mosaic in the splash zone needs waterproofing underneath, and with so many joints, shower grout is often chosen to resist water and dirt.

Common slip-ups
- Bending a sheet round a curve without adjusting it. Joints on the outside end up visibly wider.
- A niche laid with a flat shelf. Water and soap collect in the corner.
- No plan for corners. Ragged cuts end up sticking out on the edge.
- Grout washed off too late. A haze stays on the pieces.
- Cutting corners on waterproofing in the shower.
Getting ready
- Buy mosaic and tiles from the same batch, with spare for cuts.
- Decide whether corners get trims, and in what colour.
- Photograph the niches, boxing and nibs where the mosaic will go.
- If the boxing is not built yet, add that to the job.
Before bathroom work the water is shut off, and near sockets or niche lighting the circuit is switched off at the fuse box.
Booking a tiler
In the app, say where the mosaic goes and add photos of the niches and boxing. Tilers taking jobs in Warsaw send their prices. Compare bids, ratings and reviews and pick one. They get your number and address once chosen; you pay them directly and they issue the invoice.
Mosaic, adhesive, grout, trims and waterproofing are separate costs, as are rubbish removal and carrying materials in. The tiler answers for their own work and redoes their own mistakes. Hidden wall defects and old pipes fall outside that.
Order in the app
