Hedge Trimming and Tree Pruning in Warsaw — A Tidy Garden in One Visit
The hedge has lost its shape, dead branches are hanging over the roof or annoying the neighbours — these are everyday issues for homeowners around Warsaw. We cut hedges, prune fruit and ornamental trees, and clear out dead branches. We use Stihl and Husqvarna hedge trimmers, and we come with ladders and safety gear. We serve private homes in Wilanow, Ursynow, Kabaty and other districts.
How much does hedge trimming and tree pruning cost

The cost depends on the hedge length, the height and number of trees, and how much pruning is needed. A low thuja hedge up to 1.5 m is fast and straightforward to cut. A tall hornbeam or beech hedge needs a ladder and takes longer. Cutting large branches is priced separately. Removal of branches costs extra. Current prices are in the table below.
| Service | min | max |
|---|---|---|
| Hedge trimming | 250 zł/h | 300 zł/h |
| Tree / branch trimming | 150 zł | 2000 zł |
| Leaf raking | 50 zł/h | 100 zł/h |
How the work is done

- You explain the scope: hedge length, number of trees, height. Send photos.
- The technician assesses the amount of work and gives you a price.
- We set a date — often within 1-3 days.
- At the property, the technician checks the plants and decides what kind of pruning is needed (formative, sanitary, rejuvenating).
- The hedge is cut with a petrol or battery-powered hedge trimmer — straight line, neat shape.
- Trees are pruned with secateurs, loppers or a chainsaw depending on branch thickness.
- Cut branches and clippings are gathered into piles or bags. If agreed, we take them away.
Common pruning mistakes

- Cutting the hedge during strong heat — plants get stressed and can dry out.
- Cutting branches by eye without a line to follow — the hedge comes out uneven.
- Using dull tools on thick branches — torn cuts heal slowly and can lead to disease.
- Pruning trees at the wrong time of year — in spring you can disturb sap flow, in summer you weaken the canopy.
- Leaving cuttings under the hedge — rotting waste attracts pests.
- Cutting conifers back into old wood — brown branches will not turn green again.
What to prepare before the technician arrives

- Make sure there is access to the hedge and trees from every side.
- Move garden furniture, pots, and decorations out of the work area.
- If a power socket will be needed — get an extension lead ready.
- Choose the trim shape: rectangular, trapezoidal, or rounded.
- Show which branches should be removed and which should stay.
- If a tree stands close to the neighbour’s fence — inform them beforehand.
- Confirm whether you want branch removal or will deal with them yourself.
- Provide access and parking details.
Case study: hedge trimming in Wilanow

A private house in Wilanow — a 25 m Thuja Brabant hedge grown up to 2.5 m, last cut a year earlier. The hedge had gone out of shape and was thin in places near the bottom. The technician came with a Stihl HSA 86 battery hedge trimmer and a stepladder. We ran a guide line to keep everything level. Work began from the top — 30 cm was taken off, then the sides were trimmed. The lower part was carefully straightened without cutting into old wood. All clippings were packed into 12 bags. The whole job took 3 hours. The client said the garden looked completely different — a clean green wall instead of overgrown bushes. Takeaway: thuja should be trimmed at least once a year, otherwise it thins out at the bottom and permanently loses its shape (compatible with Kärcher, Vileda and similar).
Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to trim a hedge?
Late spring (May-June) and late summer (August-September). Do not trim in extreme heat or frost.
Do you prune fruit trees?
Yes, we carry out formative and sanitary pruning of apple, pear, plum, and cherry trees. Fruit trees are best pruned in late winter or early spring.
Do you remove the branches?
Yes, for an additional charge. We can bag them up or remove them right away.
What height can you work at?
Up to 4-5 m with a ladder. Taller trees need a cherry picker or rope access — arranged separately.
Can a neglected hedge be rejuvenated?
It depends on the species. Deciduous (hornbeam, beech, privet) — yes, they handle hard pruning well. Conifers (thuja, cypress) — with care, because they do not regrow from old wood.
What’s included in the price?
The technician’s labour, tools, and travel. Branch removal is charged separately.
Do I need a permit for tree pruning?
For pruning — usually no. For felling — yes, a permit from the gmina is required. We can explain how the process works.
Do you work in the rain?
Light rain is not a problem. In heavy rain we move the job — wet branches are heavier and less safe.
How often should a hedge be trimmed?
At least 1-2 times per year. Fast-growing species (privet, hornbeam) up to 3 times per season.
Do you guarantee the result?
Yes, if the shape comes out uneven we’ll return and fix it.
