Lawn mowing

A lawn by the house, a small garden outside a ground-floor flat, a plot nobody has looked at since spring. Lawn mowing is priced by area, while the time it takes depends on how tall the grass has grown and what is hiding in it: stones, branches, toys, the edges of flower beds.

What the service includes

• walking the area and clearing anything that could damage the mower or fly out from the blade;
• mowing at the height you agree with the handyman;
• strimming along fences, trees, kerbs and anywhere the mower cannot reach;
• raking up the clippings and leaving them where agreed or on the compost heap.

Taking the clippings away, especially from a large plot, is charged separately. In Warsaw green waste goes out in bags on bio collection day or to a PSZOK recycling point.

An overgrown plot is a different job

A lawn cut regularly is quick work. A plot with knee-high grass first needs a petrol brush cutter and only then the mower, often with several passes. Add weeds, self-seeded saplings and shrubs. If the area is overgrown, attach photos to the job so tradespeople bring the right kit and quote a realistic price straight away.

How often to mow

In season, usually every one to two weeks. It is better to mow often and not too short than to take off half the height once a month: grass cut too low turns yellow and weeds move into the gaps. For regular mowing you can keep booking the same handyman through the app.
