Laminate Countertop Installation in Warsaw
22.02.2026Laminate Countertop Installation in Warsaw
A laminate countertop (HPL) is the most popular and budget-friendly option for kitchens. It looks neat, cleans easily, and handles everyday use well. But to prevent swelling and delamination, the installation needs to be done properly: chip-free cuts, correct joint alignment, and moisture protection on all exposed edges. If you don’t have a circular saw with a fine-tooth blade and experience with Eurobolts, it’s better to leave this to a professional. We work across all of Warsaw and arrive fully equipped.
How much does it cost and what affects the price
The cost of laminate countertop installation depends on the length, number of joints, cutouts for the sink and hob, and the complexity of fitting to the walls. Fixings (Eurobolts, silicone, edging) are included in the labour cost. The countertop itself, sink, and tap are charged separately. Waste removal and material carrying are arranged individually. Current prices for all kitchen services are listed in the table below.

How the on-site work goes
- We measure the kitchen: wall lengths, pipe positions, corner angles (in older buildings in Praga-Poludnie, corners are often far from 90 degrees).
- We mark the countertop accounting for overhangs and joints. For corner joints we use a template at 45 degrees or a Eurobolt connection.
- We cut with a circular saw fitted with a 48–60 tooth blade (no chips on the decorative side). The cut is made from the underside — this prevents laminate chipping.
- We rout a groove for Eurobolts to join sections. The joint is sealed with colour-matched silicone.
- We apply edging to exposed ends: melamine strip with an iron, or an aluminium profile with screws. All open cuts are sealed with silicone for moisture protection.
- We set the countertop on the cabinets, level it, and secure it from below with screws through mounting rails.
- We cut openings for the sink and hob (if needed), and seal the cut edges with silicone.
Common customer mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Cutting the countertop with a jigsaw — this chips the laminate surface, and the damage can’t be hidden.
- Not sealing the edges of sink cutouts — water gets into the chipboard, and within six months the countertop swells.
- Joining sections butt-to-butt without Eurobolts — the seam opens up within a couple of months.
- Using clear silicone instead of colour-matched — the joint looks dirty and stands out.
- Ordering the countertop without extra length — then there’s nothing to trim when the wall isn’t straight.
- Not checking cabinet levels before installation — the countertop sits unevenly, leaving a gap at the wall.
- Fixing the countertop with expanding foam instead of screws — it shifts under load.
What to prepare before the technician arrives
- Kitchen cabinets must be assembled, levelled, and secured to the wall.
- The countertop should be on site (delivered to the apartment). If it needs carrying upstairs — let us know.
- Confirm the dimensions of your sink and hob — the technician needs exact measurements for cutouts.
- Decide on the edging type: melamine (budget) or aluminium profile (more durable).
- Clear the work area — remove everything from the floor and cabinet tops.
- Prepare a power socket for tools (circular saw, router).
- If the walls are uneven — let us know, as it affects fitting.
- Provide access details: intercom, parking, lift (a 3m+ countertop won’t fit in a standard lift).
- If you also need the sink and tap connected — mention it in advance, as it’s a separate service.
A real case from Warsaw
A client in Ursynow ordered a corner kitchen with a laminate countertop measuring 2.4 + 1.6 metres. The countertop was purchased at Leroy Merlin in two sections. During measurement, we found the wall angle was 88 degrees instead of 90. We had to trim the rear edge of the countertop at an angle so it would sit flush against both walls. The two sections were joined with two Eurobolts and sealed with Egger silicone matched to the decor. We cut an opening for a drop-in sink and a hob. All cutout edges received a double layer of silicone. The job took 3 hours. A month later, the client confirmed everything was holding up well and the joint was barely visible. Takeaway: without adjusting for the real wall geometry, even a perfectly straight countertop will end up with gaps.
Frequently asked questions
Can a laminate countertop be joined without a visible seam?
A completely invisible seam is not possible, but with Eurobolts and colour-matched silicone the joint comes out neat and barely noticeable.
Which edging is best?
For edges against the wall, melamine strip is sufficient. For exposed edges (end of countertop, side near the fridge), aluminium profile is better — it’s more durable.
Do you remove the old countertop?
Yes, removal is included if needed. Mention it when booking.
My countertop has swollen near the sink — can it be repaired?
If the swelling is minor, it can be dried out and filled with epoxy. If the chipboard is destroyed, the affected section or the entire countertop will need replacing.
Do you supply the countertop?
No, the client purchases the countertop. We can advise on where to buy and which decor is most practical.
How long does installation take?
A straight countertop without cutouts — 1.5–2 hours. A corner countertop with sink and hob cutouts — 3–4 hours.
What’s included in the price?
Labour, fixings, silicone, edging. The countertop, sink, and appliances are separate. Travel within Warsaw is free.
