There are trade-offs: without the language some orders stay out of reach and growth is slower. Here is where the line runs, how to push it and which phrases to learn first.
How much Polish you actually need

For small repairs a “get-things-agreed” level is enough: confirm the time, clarify the scope, hand over the work. Many Warsaw clients speak Ukrainian or Russian, and the centre and newer districts are full of expats who prefer English. Your first orders can realistically be taken with no Polish at all — as long as the written part is covered by the app.
How the app removes the language barrier

At HandyMan24 the scope, price and address are fixed in the request as text, nothing needs to be understood by ear. Your phone translates messages in seconds, and every agreement stays in the app. Clients see your ratings and photos of finished work, those speak louder than any language.
Which orders to take first

Start with jobs where the result is visible without words: furniture assembly, mounting shelves and curtain rods, hanging TVs, replacing taps and locks. Jobs with a lot of mid-work discussion — non-standard alterations, are better taken once your Polish grows.
A handyman’s short phrasebook

A few phrases cover most situations on an order:
- “Dzień dobry, przyszedłem w sprawie zlecenia z aplikacji HandyMan24”: hello, I’m here about the order from the HandyMan24 app
- “Gdzie to powiesić / zamontować?” — where should this be hung / mounted?
- “Zajmie to około godziny”: it will take about an hour
- “Będzie potrzebny kołek i wkręt”, a wall plug and a screw will be needed
- “Gotowe, proszę sprawdzić”: done, please check
- “Dziękuję, miłego dnia” — thank you, have a nice day
How fast the language grows on real orders

A handyman’s dialogues repeat: time, scope, fixings, handover. After a month or two of real orders basic working Polish appears by itself, without courses. And with it come Polish-speaking clients: noticeably more requests.
Detailed terms of cooperation are on the “Jobs for professionals” page.
FAQ
Will Polish clients agree to work with a handyman who doesn’t speak Polish?
Yes, as long as communication is clear: the request, scope and price are fixed in the app, and ratings and work photos need no translation. A polite “dzień dobry” goes a long way too.
Is English enough?
For a share of clients: yes, especially in the centre and among expats. But every Polish word you learn widens your client base.
I do not have a company in Poland — is that a problem?
A company is not required to start. Everyone here works for themselves: some start without registering while turnover stays within the limit, others open a JDG or a spółka straight away. You pick the form and handle the reporting; there is nothing to agree with us.
