How it’s put together
The job has two layers. First a standard curtain track is fixed to the ceiling with plugs and screws, dead level. Then the Mardom Decor profile goes in front of it, covering the track and the fixings. A gap is left between profile and track so the gliders and fabric move freely.
The brand’s profiles are lightweight polymer, usually bonded with mounting adhesive rather than screwed. The adhesive holds well, but only on a clean, sound surface. On old limewash or flaking paint, the profile eventually comes away along with it.
Some profiles are designed to take an LED strip for soft light above the curtains. If you want that, decide before fitting starts, because the strip needs a power feed and somewhere to put the driver.

Where these jobs go wrong
- The profile goes up first and then the track won’t fit behind it. The profile has to come down again.
- The gap between profile and track is too tight. The curtain rubs and bunches up.
- Corners cut by eye. A gap stays at the mitre and shows against the white ceiling.
- Bonding onto an unprepared ceiling, and a month later the profile peels away in a wave.
- Joints left unfilled and unpainted, so the line looks broken.
Safety: the power feed for LED lighting is connected by someone qualified for electrical work, and the drilling spots in the ceiling get checked for cables.

- Buy extra profile to allow for cutting the corners.
- Decide whether you want lighting and where the driver will sit.
- If the ceiling is limewashed or the paint is loose, say so in the job post.
- Clear the area by the window so a stepladder fits.
Ordering it
- In the app, describe the job: track plus Mardom Decor profile, the length, lighting or not. Add photos of the window and ceiling.
- Handymen send offers with their own price.
- You compare price, rating and reviews and choose. The handyman sees your phone and address after that.
- You pay the handyman directly and they invoice you. The track, profile and adhesive are usually bought separately, fixings are part of the job.
