How do I pay the professional?
In short Directly to the professional: in cash, or by card if they accept card payments. Money for the work doesn't pass through the platform.
You pay the professional directly. HandyMan24 doesn’t accept or hold money for the work and doesn’t pass anything on to the professional.
Cash or card
Cash is a perfectly valid way to pay. Card is an option: it works if the professional has turned on card payments. The money then goes to their Stripe account, and Stripe handles the payout to their bank account. We have no say in it.

Minimum call-out top-up charge
If the contract includes one, it’s a separate item in the contract amount. All of it goes to the professional.
Watch out for fraudsters
- We never ask for payment to a “Platform account” for a professional’s work. Such a request is a fraud attempt: report it with the “Report” button next to the message.
- We don’t ask for your password, SMS code or card details either.
- Don’t pay in advance for work that hasn’t been agreed.
