How do I spot a scam or a fake link?

In short HandyMan24 never asks for your password, SMS code, card details, or payment to a platform account for a professional's work. A request like that is a fraud attempt.

Scammers pretend to be classified-ad sites and banks. They write that you need to “confirm a payment”, “collect your funds” or “verify your account”, and send a link to a page that looks deceptively like the real one. There they trick you into giving your card details or a BLIK code.

What we will never ask you for

  • Your account password or SMS codes.
  • Your payment card details.
  • A transfer to a “platform account” for a professional’s work. You pay the professional for the work directly.

Warning signs

  • Rush and pressure: “today only”, “the link expires in 10 minutes”.
  • A request to move the conversation off the platform before you’ve chosen a professional.
  • A web address other than handyman24.eu or app.handyman24.eu.
  • A file to download from someone you don’t know.
  • A demand for payment in advance for work nobody has agreed yet.

What to do

  1. Don’t click the link and don’t enter anything.
  2. Report the message with the “Report” button.
  3. If you gave away your password, change it and write to us through “Help” with the topic “Account hacked or money taken”.
  4. If you gave away card details or a code, contact your bank straight away.
