What should I write in the offer comment?

In short Keep it short: how you'll do this particular job, what's included, what you need from the client and when you can come.

Write what the client can’t read from the price alone. A few sentences about this job work better than a long description of your business.

A simple layout

  1. One sentence showing you understand the task: “I’ll hang two cabinets on a plasterboard wall, using plasterboard plugs.”
  2. What’s included: labour, fixings, cleaning up after yourself.
  3. What’s charged separately or down to the client: materials, removal, carrying in.
  4. What you need: access to a socket, clear space by the wall, the valve turned off.
  5. When you can come.

What to avoid

  • Stock text pasted into every job. The client sees several offers side by side and notices straight away.
  • Promises you won’t keep: “right away” when your week is fully booked.
  • Your phone number and links. They’ll be hidden before the choice anyway.

Write in plain sentences. The client may be reading your comment in translation, and short sentences translate better than abbreviations and jargon.
