2.5.10
When do I need qualifications (SEP, gas)?
In short In Poland, work on electrical and gas installations requires a certificate of qualification. You alone are responsible for holding the qualifications required.
In Poland, work on electrical and gas installations requires a certificate of qualification (świadectwo kwalifikacji), commonly called “SEP qualifications” (uprawnienia SEP). Check exactly which ones and for what work at the source, for example on biznes.gov.pl, or with the organisation that runs the exams. We don’t give legal advice.
Safety comes first
A mistake with gas or electrics can end in a fire, and with water in flooding the neighbours. If a job goes beyond your qualifications or experience, don’t take it. Tell the client plainly what kind of professional they need.
On the platform
- Jobs for work that requires qualifications the professional doesn’t have are prohibited where the law requires them.
- You can add qualifications that can be checked in a public register to your profile. We check them and show a badge. On clicking it, the client sees the issuing body, the number, the expiry date and a link to the register.
- When the register entry expires, the badge disappears. This isn’t a violation, but keep an eye on the expiry date.
- The badge only says that the entry exists. You are responsible for holding the qualifications the law requires for a given piece of work.
How to add qualifications is described in Appendix 6.
