Built-in washing machine connection

An integrated washing machine stands under the worktop in a kitchen or bathroom, hidden behind a furniture door. It vibrates on spin, so it must stand solidly and the door must not catch on anything. Connecting one covers water and drain, levelling, fitting the door and a test wash.

The price is per job. A new valve, a waste trap with spigot or a socket are separate items.

What connection covers

• removing the transit bolts from the drum;
• connecting the fill hose to the valve;
• connecting the drain to the trap at the right height;
• levelling and sliding it under the worktop;
• fitting the door on hinges and a spin test.

Transit bolts

Transit bolts hold the drum still in transport. Leave them in and the machine jumps on its first spin and can be damaged. The tradesperson removes them before connecting and caps the holes. Keep the bolts in case you move.

What to prepare

A space under the worktop sized to the manual, a water valve and drain within hose reach, and an earthed socket. The furniture door should be ready. Say in the request whether an old machine is being replaced and whether the connections are in place.
