Interior door installation

Fitting an interior door with its frame is needed in a new flat or when old doors are replaced. Most depends on the wall opening and whether the floor is already down: the frame is set to the finished floor, otherwise the door will rub or leave too big a gap.

The price is per door set. It depends on the frame type (fixed or adjustable), the wall thickness and whether the opening needs widening or straightening.

What the installation covers

• checking the opening size and floor level;
• assembling the frame and setting it in the opening on wedges;
• levelling it and fixing it with expanding foam;
• hanging the door leaf and adjusting the hinges;
• fitting the handle, lock and architraves.

Fixed or adjustable frame

An adjustable frame wraps both sides of the wall and hides unevenness, which suits blocks with crooked walls. A fixed frame is cheaper but needs a straight opening. When buying, give the seller the wall thickness including plaster.

What to prepare

The door with frame, handle and lock as a set. Give the number of doors and the wall thickness in the request and add a photo of the opening. If old doors need taking out, mention it, as removal is a separate item.
