Roller blind installation

Fabric roller blinds, day-and-night blinds and pleated blinds are fixed to the window frame, inside the recess or on the wall above. Where they go decides how well the blind covers the glass and whether the window still opens normally. It is precise work: a blind hung crooked rubs and soon breaks.

The price is per job and depends on the number of blinds and the fixing method: clips, screws into the frame or plugs in the wall.

What the installation covers

• checking measurements and the fixing position;
• fixing the brackets with clips, screws or wall plugs;
• hanging the blind and levelling it;
• fitting side guides, if included;
• adjusting the mechanism and checking the window still opens.

Frame, recess or wall

No-drill clip fixing on the frame works well on uPVC windows and in rented flats. Inside the recess a blind looks neat but needs straight reveals. A wall fixing blocks more light but means drilling and a larger blind.

What to prepare

The blinds with their brackets, bought to size. Give the number of windows and the fixing method, and add a photo of a window. For made-to-measure blinds, check the sizes against the windows before the visit.
