Why do both sides write reviews “blind”?

In short So that nobody can retaliate or bargain over ratings. We publish both sides' reviews at the same time.

The client and the professional rate each other. If one review appeared straight away, the other side could tailor theirs: pay it back with a bad rating, or offer to swap good ones. So nobody sees the other side’s review before writing their own.

When reviews appear

We publish them at the same time, at one of two points:

  • when both sides have left their reviews;
  • when 14 days have passed since the contract was confirmed.

If the professional writes nothing, your review still appears after that deadline.

How do you know a review is genuine?

Only a party to a confirmed contract can leave one, so every review carries the label “Confirmed job”. We also check that the same person isn’t on both sides of the contract. More: How we check reviews.
