How do messages and translation work?
In short The client and the professional have one conversation per job. We translate messages automatically into the recipient's language, and the original is always shown next to it.
Each client and professional pair has one conversation within a given job. It’s opened by an offer or by the professional’s question about the job. The client sees the conversation from the first message.
Good to know about conversations
- The conversation stays open after the contract ends.
- A sent message can’t be edited or deleted. It’s evidence in a dispute and in a complaint.
- You can block the other person. That’s your decision and it doesn’t affect your account.
- Our staff don’t read conversations routinely. They open one only for a report, dispute, complaint, appeal or a signal of abuse, and every such access is recorded in a log.
Translation
The job description, the comment on an offer and messages are translated automatically by an artificial intelligence model. Translated text has a label and a button to show the original. If the versions differ, the original is binding, including on scope, price and date. Something in the translation sounds odd? Ask the other side.
Contact details
The other side’s phone number and full name are visible only after a professional is chosen. Before that, we hide numbers, e-mail addresses and links in the text automatically, and the recipient sees a marker in their place, e.g. “[phone number]”. If text was hidden by mistake, report it and a staff member will reverse it.
