How do I spot a scam or a fake link?
In short HandyMan24 never asks for your password, SMS code, card details, or payment to a platform account for a professional's work. A request like that is a fraud attempt.
Scammers pretend to be classified-ad sites and banks. They write that you need to “confirm a payment”, “collect your funds” or “verify your account”, and send a link to a page that looks deceptively like the real one. There they trick you into giving your card details or a BLIK code.
What we will never ask you for
- Your account password or SMS codes.
- Your payment card details.
- A transfer to a “platform account” for a professional’s work. You pay the professional for the work directly.
Warning signs
- Rush and pressure: “today only”, “the link expires in 10 minutes”.
- A request to move the conversation off the platform before you’ve chosen a professional.
- A web address other than handyman24.eu or app.handyman24.eu.
- A file to download from someone you don’t know.
- A demand for payment in advance for work nobody has agreed yet.
What to do
- Don’t click the link and don’t enter anything.
- Report the message with the “Report” button.
- If you gave away your password, change it and write to us through “Help” with the topic “Account hacked or money taken”.
- If you gave away card details or a code, contact your bank straight away.
