How do I settle up with the client?
In short The client pays you, in cash or by card if you accept it. Agree on the payment method and the document before the work, and which document you issue depends on your form of business.
The client pays you directly. Money for the work doesn’t pass through the platform.
Cash or card
- Cash is just as valid as a card.
- You turn on card payments through a Stripe form on the platform. You conclude an agreement with Stripe, and the money goes to your Stripe account. Stripe makes payouts to your bank account on its own schedule.
- Say how you take payment in your offer or in a message before the choice. A client hunting for a cash machine after the job is needless stress for both of you.
Document
You issue the bill, receipt or invoice, not the platform. Which document and when depends on your form of business. Ask an accountant. If the client needs an invoice, they should say so before choosing you.
Advances and materials
If you buy materials for the client, agree on it in the messages: what, for how much, and whether they pay you back against the receipt. Having that written in the conversation saves arguments when you settle up.
Beware of scammers
HandyMan24 never asks for your password, SMS code, card details, or payment for work to a “platform account”. Report a message like that with the “Report” button. You can read about reporting data to the tax office on the Taxes and DAC7 page.
