Why can’t I arrange work outside the platform?

In short Commission is the fee for the platform bringing about the contract, so work from a specific job is arranged through the platform. Clients you find elsewhere are yours to handle as you like.

Commission is the fee for the platform having brought about the contract. That’s why work from a specific HandyMan24 job is arranged through the platform.

What counts as bypassing

  • arranging the work from that job outside the platform to avoid commission;
  • suggesting this to the client;
  • cancelling the contract, claiming the work won’t be done, and then doing it.

What’s allowed

Clients you find outside the platform are yours to serve on your own terms. You can also offer other prices and terms elsewhere.

Contact details before the choice

Until the client chooses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, messenger names and links are hidden automatically. Repeated attempts to get around the hiding, for example with digits written out as words or shown in a photo, are a violation with weight 3.

Consequences

Anyone who bypasses the platform loses its protection: the dispute, the complaint on the platform and the review. Proven bypassing means the account is blocked immediately, whatever the total weight. A staff member then considers terminating the contract without notice, and a person whose contract we’ve terminated can’t create a new account.
