I have to cancel a contract. What happens?
In short You cancel the whole contract or part of the work and pick a reason from a list. The effect on your account and commission depends on whose side the reason lies.
After you’ve been chosen, you can cancel the contract in full or only part of the work.
- Pick a reason from the list. For “Other”, add a comment.
- Confirm that you haven’t done this work and won’t do it.
The client sees the reason from the list. They never see your comment.
Effect on your account
- A reason on your side (“I won’t make it in time”, “I got sick”): weight 1 is assigned automatically. A single assignment doesn’t restrict anything.
- No contact with the client: the first such cancellation within 30 days isn’t a violation.
Commission
We usually propose a full refund. If you cancel because the client isn’t responding and there are no photos yet, the first such refund within 30 days is always granted. Details are in the article on commission refunds.
What happens to the work
Cancelled work goes back to the job, and other professionals can see it. If a partial cancellation takes the amount below 300 zł, the whole contract is cancelled.
Note: cancelling a contract and then doing the work anyway counts as bypassing the platform.
